New Zealand Joint Office Location
One of the key decisions to be made in integrating the Maersk and P&O Nedlloyd operations in New Zealand has been where to locate the head office for the combined business. It has now been decided that the future head office for Maersk Line and Maersk Logistics will be based in Auckland.
This decision has been given considerable thought over recent months and there were very compelling arguments for both Wellington and Auckland. The principle reason for Auckland is that it provides a platform for growth on the existing Maersk business, processes and systems established there.
We will be retaining our local sales offices in Tauranga, Napier, Christchurch and Dunedin as these have worked well for both companies in serving our clients.
With this announcement on the location of the business, we are now able to move forward with the next stages of integration planning of our two companies and finalising the new company organisation structure.
We will, as mentioned in earlier advisories, continue to operate as separate businesses until February 2006. One of our key priorities in the interim will be to continue business without interruption and with our usual high service standards to you. It is also our priority to plan the transition period with integrity and commitment to our staff, ensuring a professional transition for staff and customers alike.
